Rorschach is a vigilante character featured in the *Watchmen* comic book series, first appearing in *Watchmen* #1, published in 1986 by DC Comics.

The man behind the mask, Walter Kovacs, was born in 1938. Traumatized by his upbringing, he developed a stark, black-and-white worldview. He rejects moral ambiguity, seeing the world as a struggle between good and evil.

Rorschach's mask is his most distinctive feature: a white fabric covering his face, with constantly shifting black ink blot patterns resembling Rorschach tests. He believes the mask gives him his true face, while Walter Kovacs is merely a disguise.
